Boson Motors is a Silicon Valley based startup focusing on farm automation. We are working on solving farming/agriculture automation challenges with our electric vehicles and computer vision.

Boson relies heavily on data to enhance and refine hardware designs, proactively identify faults, and ensure the safety of our products. We gather data from our trucks and storage devices to improve our offerings continuously and enhance customer safety.

Our team provides direct support to engineers by conducting data analysis and developing applications and tools for self-service analysis in the future. Leveraging our internal data platform and open-source data science tools like Jupyter notebooks and Pandas, our work directly impacts Boson's products and supports hundreds of engineers across various disciplines.

We are seeking a skilled engineer to oversee data engineering, analysis, and science activities. In this role, you will utilize extensive device data and a first-principles approach to problem-solving to inform future hardware, firmware, and autonomous software designs. Additionally, you will collaborate with other engineering teams to optimize control algorithms, define product requirements, and enhance product quality.

Furthermore, you will work closely with our Data Analytics team for peer reviews, technical growth, and to develop advanced tools and infrastructure for handling device data efficiently. These tools will be shared across the company to improve overall efficiency and benefit all teams

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify problem statements, narrow down the analysis scope, and use findings to improve product outcomes.

Create replicable data analyses using open-source technologies, summarize findings effectively, and communicate assumptions clearly.

Build data pipelines to transition ad-hoc analyses into production-ready dashboards for fellow engineers' use.

Develop, deploy, and maintain metrics, applications, and tools to empower engineers to access and utilize data insights independently.

Write well-structured and thoroughly tested code, ensuring maintainability and scalability for future enhancements.

Stay updated on relevant technologies and propose new ones for team adoption.

What You’ll Bring

Minimum 5+ years of professional experience.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Proficiency in Python, SQL, Time Series databases, and data visualization creation.

Time Series Forecasting, Regression

Tableau, dash/plotly, seaborn/matplotlib, Grafana,Prometheus

Tools/Frameworks: Snowflake, Bitbucket, Git, JIRA, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn.GCP and InfluxDB

Supervised & Unsupervised ML and AI

Solid understanding of statistics.

Experience writing software in a professional setting.

Strong problem-solving abilities to refine problem statements and devise solutions with available data.

Curiosity and motivation to tackle complex problems.
